The current owners view the closure as "an opportunity for a new beginning" and are optimistic about finding new proprietors passionate about running the place. Over its tenure, D.S. Tequila Co. was a beloved Northalsted haunt that made a considerable contribution to Chicago's nightlife scene.
At 3352 N. Halsted Street, D.S. Tequila has been a gathering point for both Chicago's LGBTQ+ community and Chicago's lot of Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers fans. LSU flags decorating the exterior of the bar signifying it as the go-to venue for the Chicago chapter of the LSU alumni association, as NBC Chicago reported.
Aside from D.S. Tequila, the owners have been a well-known presence with multiple establishments in the Northalsted strip, like Crispy Chicks, Fajita Factory, Dive Bar, mEAT, winebar, and minibar. The announcement about the closure prompt a wave of appreciation from local patrons and community members for the experiences shared there. On its Instagram, the owners assured patrons that they cherish their company over the years and look forward to the upcoming turn of events.
