Based on a San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) news release, on October 7, the SFPD Burglary Unit and Mission Station executed an undercover operation in collaboration with retail loss prevention teams. The goal was to probe and retrieve likely stolen items from a notorious fence location on the 1800 block of Mission Street.
Through this undercover operation, two illicit street vending stands displaying merchandise suspected of being stolen were identified. The merchandise bore retail store tags, security tags, and other anti-theft devices. The investigation led to the discovery that these items, sold openly, were stolen from several retail points in the Bay Area, rounding up to nearly $18,000 in recovered stolen merchandise.
Successful collaboration led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of running this illegal trade: Deysi Ramirez (59), Veronica Lumbreras Villanueva (40), and Marvin Dick Godoy Calderon (43). Ramirez and Villanueva were charged with keeping stolen property and conspiracy, whereas Calderon, also charged with possession of stolen property, was cited and released.
