
Law enforcement officials in Waukegan are on the hunt for a bank robbery suspect following a weekend heist at a local Bank of America branch. The FBI reported to the Chicago Sun-Times that at approximately 1:34 p.m. on Saturday, a suspect made off with an undisclosed sum of money after implying he was armed with a handgun to a bank teller at 920 South Waukegan Road.
Descriptions of the alleged perpetrator have been circulating; he's described as a white male standing at approximately 5-foot-10 with brown hair according to one account and about 5-foot-11, 185 pounds in his mid-30s with a medium build, birthing a scruffy beard and significant acne scarring. Per the FOX 32 Chicago report, the suspect fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived, leaving the employees shaken but unharmed in the wake of the robbery.
Witnesses recall the man wearing a dark baseball hat and a blue, long-sleeved, button-down shirt paired with dark jeans. It's the second such incident in recent weeks; another robbery occurred just three miles away, involving a similar modus operandi.
