Chicagoans can expect a run of sunny days ahead with milder temperatures, according to the latest forecasts. As detailed by the National Weather Service, Thursday has lived up to expectations with sunny skies and a high near 49 degrees. The clear trend is set to continue into the night, with a low of around 33.
The pleasant weather is seemingly here to stay throughout the week, with Friday also mostly sunny and a high near 51 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy evening as temperatures are expected to dip down to the mid-30s, WLS-TV reports. Looking ahead, the forecast from both the National Weather Service and local news anticipates a mild Friday and a small chance of showers on Saturday afternoon, with highs edging back into the mid-40s. Sunday and Monday promise a mix of sun and clouds, with some nights flirting with the freezing mark.
Despite this stretch of tranquil weather, the Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service suggests that "no hazardous weather is expected at this time," although it does warn of "hazardous conditions for small craft" on Sunday and Monday, suggesting Chicago's water-bound residents should take caution.
The week ahead for Chicagoland appears to hold a reprieve from any harsh winter conditions, with "warmer than average" temperatures gracing the middle of the week. Mariners aside, who’ll need to be wary of conditions come Sunday, Chicago is set to experience a mild and sunny week with just a fleeting chance for showers to remind us that even as the cold retreats, it's never truly gone in the Windy City.
