
A man was fatally shot on December 28 in the Constitution Hill Apartments in Southeast Atlanta, and the police have now cuffed a suspect in connection with the homicide. The victim, discovered with at least one bullet wound, was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical responders.
According to reports by FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident took place shortly before 4:50 p.m. on the 1100 block of Constitution Road SE. Details regarding a possible motive or others involved were initially scarce as the Atlanta Police Department has continued to thoroughly investigate to arrest the culprit.
The Atlanta Police announced yesterday that 47-year-old Anthony Hightowner has been arrested and is facing charges including murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, Hightowner, also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, was nabbed by the Gainesville Police Department and Hall County Sheriff's Office and is now lodged at Fulton County Jail.
The identity of the victim has not been released. The area, near Moreland Avenue in the Leila Valley neighborhood, is now the focus of a police homicide investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to possibly aid in further apprehending any additional persons involved.
