A fatal shooting in Pompano Beach early Wednesday morning has left one man dead and another in custody for questioning. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputies arrived at the 1300 block of Northeast 4th Street to find the victim dead at the scene around 8 a.m., as reported by NBC6. Details surrounding the shooting are still unclear, with the BSO homicide detectives now assigned to launch an enquiry into what transpired to lead up to this lethal event, according to Local10.
The identity of the victim nor the detained roommate, said to be present at the time of the shooting, have not been officially disclosed by authorities. However, neighbors have asserted that the two men were in fact roommates. According to NBC6, a neighbor described a heart-wrenching scene involving the mother of one of the men, who was seen outside the apartment visibly distraught. "The mom of one of the persons in the apartment, I have no idea, she was pacing back and forth so I just gave her some coffee and a tissue," said the neighbor. "She just said 'it’s my son, he called me and then he called 911' and that’s all she knew."
