Fort Lauderdale's sunny tranquility will face a detour come Monday, as the "Bad Boys" cinematic duo barrels through town for one final cinematic crime-fighting spree. City officials have forewarned the public of significant road closures to accommodate the filming of "Bad Boys 4," featuring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who are reprising their iconic roles for the upcoming summer release.

According to NBC Miami, come February 26, travelers will need to reroute as northbound A1A shuts down from 6 a.m. to noon between Las Olas Boulevard and Bayshore Drive. The same disruption stretches to Poinsettia Street, Cortez Street, Castillo Street, and Sebastian Street, all closing between A1A and Seabreeze Boulevard to make way for the Hollywood action.
Making waves on social media, Will Smith announced, "Damn, I LOVE this city! Bad Boys 4 is coming fast y'all," celebrating the film currently in post-production, set for a June 14 release. Smith's revelry matches his on-screen persona's penchant for leaving a mark — albeit this time, it's the streets of South Florida that will feel the impact.
According to WSVN, it’s not just Fort Lauderdale bracing for the disruption; Miami faces its share of film-induced gridlock. Dates and locations for these delays include the easternmost lane of Brickell Avenue on February 28, as well as closures on Southwest Second Avenue and Second Street on March 1, and the Southwest Second Avenue bridge from March 2 to March 3.
The franchises' local fans may take solace in witnessing the creation of a hometown blockbuster, but commuters should brace for an alternative route or the inevitable standstill that comes with capturing the fast-paced action of Smith and Lawrence's final ride together as the dynamic duo of "Bad Boys."
