A Hialeah man has been taken into custody following the discovery of a hidden camera in a business bathroom there, authorities have confirmed. Police arrested 61-year-old Filiberto Enrique Acencio, hitting him with charges of video voyeurism after videos of women undressing in a restroom were found on a shared work computer.
According to NBC Miami, a female employee at the storage and shelving company located at 7527 W. 20th Avenue made the alarming find; after clicking on a computer icon she came across a video showing herself and a colleague using the toilet and undressing in the women's restroom, the arrest report detailed the camera had been secretly installed by Acencio which captured their private moments without consent.
Once the hidden recordings were brought to light, police arrested Acencio at his home and during questioning, according to Local 10, he admitted to the felony charges; following the interrogation, the videos were impounded as evidence, with reports illustrating the unsettling violation of privacy that occurred within the workplace.
Acencio, whose details were not listed on Miami-Dade jail records as of Thursday afternoon, is a Salvadoran national and his future with Parsteel Storage Solutions, the business implicated in the event, is currently unclear; Local 10 News reached out seeking information on Acencio's employment status but a response from the company has not been forthcoming at this time.
