The Illinois Department of Public Health is on the move, relocating its Bellwood Regional Office to a new spot in the Westbrook Corporate Center, Westchester, aiming for greater operational efficiency, the agency announced on the dot today.

Wave goodbye to the old address at 4212 W. St. Charles Road in Bellwood and say hello to its new digs at 3 Westbrook Corporate Center, 3rd Floor, Westchester, IL 60154, which will be going by the name Westchester Regional Office – if you're trying to buzz them, punch in (708) 409-8810 on your phone. The relocation ropes in some 180 IDPH staff who previously called Bellwood home and they're not just there for show, they work hand-in-glove with local health departments and have their fingers in a lot of pies, including Long-Term Care field operations and regulatory units, not to mention sections on Food, Dairies, and Devices; Immunizations; Oral Health; and Vision and Hearing, according to illinois.gov.

But that's not all she wrote; this IDPH hub is home base for the team handling involuntary transfers and discharges, plus the Office of Preparedness and Response is setting up camp there too. There's also a class act going on as IDPH runs training there for school-based pros to get them up to speed on giving kids mandated vision and hearing screenings at Illinois pre-schools and schools, as per illinois.gov.

Don't think they're putting all their eggs in one Westchester basket though, this office is also preparing to roll out the welcome mat for the West Chicago Regional Office, currently parked at 245 W. Roosevelt Road in West Chicago and it's a big deal because that office collaborates with partners from local health departments spanning across eight counties including DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will.
