A routine traffic stop in Daly City took a serious turn over the weekend when officers discovered a loaded, unregistered firearm and evidence of drug dealings. Daly City Police Department took to their official Facebook page to report the incident, which occurred on Sunday night near Geneva Avenue and Carter Street.
The officers pulled over the vehicle at around 10 pm, during which they uncovered the firearm alongside unspecified evidence suggesting the sale of narcotics. The specific nature of the narcotics-related evidence has not been disclosed. An outstanding misdemeanor warrant added to the suspect's legal woes, who now faces several felony charges following the bust.
"During the traffic stop investigation, Officers located a loaded, unregistered firearm and evidence indicative of narcotics sales," the Daly City Police Department declared in their Facebook post. The suspect, whose name has yet to be released, was arrested and booked into the county jail on numerous felony charges.
This incident falls within a larger context of increased attention on unregistered firearms and their connection to violent crime across the country. Illegal guns and the illicit drug trade often go hand-in-hand, posing a significant risk to community safety. Following the procedure, the Daly City Police have not yet provided additional details regarding the situation or any potential broader implications of the arrest. The case remains under investigation.
