
A mother and her 9-year-old daughter were hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle this morning in Miami, according to local authorities. The collision occurred at the intersection of Northeast Second Avenue and 54th Street, as reported by Local 10.
Both the woman and her daughter were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center following the incident, which unfolded just after 11:30 a.m., Miami Police said. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials have stated that the victims are stable, however, their precise conditions have yet to be made public, Miami Police added.
Authorities indicated that the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident remained on the scene. Details regarding the driver's culpability in the incident have not been clarified at this time.
Following the accident, officials temporarily shut down traffic at the site of the collision, urging motorists to find alternative routes until further notice, according to a report by WSVN. The area was closed in all directions, creating congestion in the vicinity.
