San Francisco Police have snagged a suspect linked to two homicides from 2022 and 2023 after over a year of investigation. Demetri Moore, a 43-year-old man from Solano County, was arrested on February 29, when Tenderloin officers on patrol identified him from an SFPD crime bulletin. Moore had outstanding warrants for homicide and other charges from Pittsburg, CA, according to the San Francisco Police Department's press release.

The initial incident occurred on October 18, 2022, when San Francisco Police were called to the 900 block of Market Street following a ShotSpotter activation. There, they discovered an adult male with gunshot wounds who unfortunately did not survive. Then, on June 13, 2023, another shooting on the unit block of Turk Street brought officers to the scene to find another male victim who later died from his injuries. The investigations for both incidents led detectives to the identification of Moore.

On the night of the arrest, Moore was found in possession of a firearm, which was seized during his apprehension. He faces several charges, including murder, carrying a concealed firearm, and being a felon in possession of both firearm and ammunition. Moore's capture represents a critical step in the San Francisco Police Department's ongoing efforts to address citywide gun violence.

Moore was booked at San Francisco County Jail #1, awaiting trial. The charges listed against him span a litany of firearms-related offenses, including the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
