Teen Killed, Three Wounded in Pompano Beach Shooting as BSO Seeks Public's HelpSource: Google Street View

A teenage boy has tragically lost his life following a shooting in Pompano Beach, with the violent incident also leaving three others injured, officials reported. The Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene on the 1800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 5 p.m. Monday, after receiving reports of gunfire.

At the scene, law enforcement found a teenage boy suffering from a grave gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving attempts by deputies, the young victim was later pronounced dead at Broward Health North, NBC6 reported. His name has not been disclosed to the public as of yet.

An area of the convenience store remained cordoned off, with NBC6 observers recounting a disturbing sight of blood, discarded clothes, and a lone shoe marking the spot of the incident. This particular location is hauntingly familiar with violence, being the setting of a shootout back in December which resulted in three people injured.

Three additional victims of Monday's shooting are currently receiving medical treatment at area hospitals. The BSO Homicide Unit detectives are on the case, as the conditions of these individuals have yet to be clarified, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. CBS News Miami indicated that the teenage casualty appeared to be about 16 years old.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this tragic incident to come forward and contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), with the promise of anonymity and possibly a reward. The community, once again rocked by senseless violence, awaits answers as detectives piece together the actions that led up to the shooting.
