Chaos erupted early Saturday morning at a Delray Beach parking garage when shots were fired amidst a large gathering, leaving one woman injured. Delray Beach police rushed to the scene at 95 NE 1st Avenue at approximately 2:11 a.m., after receiving a call about the incident.
The investigation so far has determined that an adult female was struck by a bullet in her ankle during the commotion on the garage's top level. Friends quickly transported her to the hospital, and luckily, the injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. The current whereabouts of the gunman continues to be a mystery, with authorities keen on tracking down the shooter.
According to the official statement by the City of Delray Beach, the Delray Beach Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Detective Kyle Kinney has been assigned to the case and is urging anyone who has knowledge about the crime to come forward.
