Early Friday morning, a Parkland, Florida home was engulfed in flames, leaving the property in ruins and local firefighters scrambling to douse the inferno. The fire broke out in the 5400 block of Godfrey Road around 3:30 a.m., according to WSVN. The two-story home, which was under renovation, showed billows of smoke that caught the eye of a passerby prompting them to alert the authorities.
Responders arrived promptly to the scene where the task to extinguish the blaze was tackled, however, the home had already been significantly damaged and images captured by 7Skyforce reveal the aftermath: a structure reduced to rubble, the firefighters' efforts were valiant but the fire left little to salvage. At this time, reports have not indicated if there were any injuries or what may have caused the fire, the heart of the investigation that now ensues, the authorities are shining a light on every possible angle to unearth the cause of what torched the home.
Additional coverage by Local 10 showed aerial footage of the scene, taken at approximately 6:10 a.m., displaying plumes of smoke as firefighters were actively fighting the blaze – by 6:45 a.m., the fire appeared to have been subdued, but the home was left completely charred; from Sky 10's vantage, nothing more than a gutted skeleton of a home was visible.
What remains unclear however is whether anyone was inside the property at the time of the outbreak and if there have been any injuries reported.
