A man is fighting for his life after being gunned down outside a Deerfield Beach hotel in the early hours this morning, authorities said. The Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies found the man with a life-threatening gunshot wound at the Extended Stay America Premier Suites, located at 1200 FAU Research Park Boulevard.

The Broward Sheriff's Office told Local 10 that they received a call just after 1:15 a.m. about the shooting. When deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel arrived, they found the victim outside the hotel. He was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital to try and save his life.

"The man had suffered from a life-threatening gunshot wound," said Carey Codd, a spokesman for the Broward Sheriff's Office, in a statement obtained by Local 10. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are seeking assistance from the public. Those with any information about the incident have been urged to come forward.
