Pompano Beach Man Charged with Aggravated Assault After Allegedly Using Van to Ram Prius in Coral Springs Road Rage IncidentSource: BSO

A road skirmish in Coral Springs erupted into vehicular violence last week when a man allegedly used his Nissan van as a battering ram against a Toyota Prius, police reported. Magin Caceres, 39, of Pompano Beach, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he apparently pursued and rammed into the Prius at about 1:30 p.m. on April 10, according to a TAPinto Coral Springs report.

The confrontation accelerated when the victim, driving his yellow Prius, honked at Caceres' erratically maneuvering van, Caceres reacted by braking sharply and, after getting passed, he chased down and slammed into the back of the Prius at Northwest 85th Avenue and West Sample Road; the victim had hoped to elude Caceres by turning left to ultimately find his vehicle forcibly pushed until it stalled, as Coral Springs Talk reported.

Determined not to let Caceres escape, the victim revived his Prius and kept a visual on the van whilst contacting the Coral Springs Police. The pursuit ended with Caceres crashing his van into the Everglades where Sample Road culminates into the Sawgrass Expressway; he was apprehended by police on the scene.

Following the tumultuous incident, the suspect's spiral came to a halt in the swampy terminus of civilization, where tarmac fades into the wild, and police handcuffed Caceres and booked him into the Broward Main Jail, but was later released on a $10,000 bond. Eyewitness accounts bolstering the victim’s claims were later provided to the authorities validating the sequence of events, "Two witnesses later confirmed the victim’s account," said Coral Springs Talk.
