A frantic search is underway for a Pembroke Pines teenager who mysteriously vanished from her home. Erika Barrios, 17, was last seen yesterday afternoon near her residence in the Towngate neighborhood, according to the local police department.
Donning a yellow bathing suit with a black cover-up and shorts, she was reported missing after departing from her home around 3:20 p.m. As per WSVN, Erika may have been carrying a bag speculated to contain a change of clothes. The Pembroke Pines Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the community grapples with concern.
In a bid to amplify the search efforts, the Pembroke Pines Police disseminated an alert via X, featuring a description of Erika's last known attire and urging the public to keep an eye out for the teen. Found around the 1500 block of Dykes Road, the last known whereabouts of Erika has triggered a neighborhood canvass by law enforcement officers and anxieties amongst residents.
