The streets of East Nashville were the backdrop for a teenage suspect's arrest Thursday, as police brought a 16-year-old into custody in connection with a shooting that occurred in June 2023. According to the Nashville Police Department, Isaiah Crawley is the second to be charged over the incident on Foster Street, where two individuals sustained gunshot wounds during what was supposed to be a meeting turned robbery.
Crawley's apprehension at his residence is another step in a case that first saw Santez Beddingfield, 20, charged last year with attempted criminal homicide, among other offenses. The altercation took place on June 29, with one victim receiving a bullet to the leg and another to the abdomen. Authorities allege that the victims were lured to be robbed by Beddingfield and the Crawley, the Metro Nashville Police stated in a release.
Moreover, the young suspect is now facing severe charges in juvenile court. These counts include attempted criminal homicide, aggravated robbery, juvenile handgun possession, and gun possession during the commission of a felony.
