A fatal stabbing rocked a San Francisco neighborhood last week, police said.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers descended on a residence in the 700 block of Post Street around 1:44 p.m. on May 15 following reports of a violent fracas. The confrontation left an adult person dead on the scene.

First responders attempted to save the victim, who had been dealt multiple stab wounds. Despite CPR and paramedics rushing to aid, the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was declared dead right there on the cold ground.

A 33-year-old woman, Raymani Yuhashi of San Francisco, was detained at the scene by officers. After the investigation, police established probable cause, and Yuhashi was subsequently imprisoned on suspicion of murder, specifically under the charge of 187(a) PC—the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought, according to SFPD's statement.

Yuhashi now awaits trial in the San Francisco County Jail. Meanwhile, SFPD's Homicide Detail has taken the reins of this continuing investigation, signaling the work of law enforcement to stitch together the narrative of this tragedy is far from over.
