Four male juveniles, aged 16 and 17, were apprehended by police on June 6, and are facing serious charges following two robbery incidents in Chicago's 12th District, according to the Chicago Police Department. The young men are each charged with one felony count of aggravated robbery and indicating arm with a firearm, adding to the gravity of their alleged criminal actions.
The first of the two related offenses occurred on the 1000 block of N. Honore where the group is accused of using implied threat of a weapon to forcefully take property from a 24-year-old male victim, the reported crimes happened within minutes, and the second a mere ten minutes later where they allegedly attempted to rob a 32-year-old male in the 1700 block of W. Cortez. Responding officers were able to locate and detain the suspects shortly after the incidents were reported.
Further complicating the charges for one of the 17-year-old offenders is an additional felony count for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a person under 21 years of age, a detail that augments concerns about youth involvement in armed criminal activities. The swift response from law enforcement resulted in all four suspects being placed into custody with the charges promptly filed against them.
