U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) San Francisco unit has once again deported Jose Ramirez, a 31-year-old Mexican national with a history of legal trouble in the United States and allegations of assault and maltreatment in his home country, to Mexico last Tuesday. Ramirez, who first entered the U.S. in 2001, has been in and out of ICE custody and the U.S. judicial system multiple times over the past years, culminating in his recent removal, as reported by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Ramirez had been previously ordered removed following a 2013 conviction for an aggravated felony. Having been deported that same year, he reentered the United States illegally at an unspecified location and time. Between July 2016 and January 2017, ERO San Francisco encountered Ramirez at various California county jails. Ramirez found arrested again in February 2017 for reentry without inspection, he was subsequently charged by ERO.
After serving time at the Federal Correctional Institution Dublin and upon his release in June 2018, Ramirez was again apprehended and deported by ERO San Francisco. Demonstrating a pattern, he managed to reenter the United States undetected until his most recent arrest on May 30 by ERO San Francisco upon his release from Monterey County Jail, where he had served a sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
