According to WTHR, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Meadows Lane early Monday after receiving reports of a person down and found a man who had been shot; he was later pronounced dead at a hospital and identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office as 26-year-old Desmond Kurtz, police are still searching for a suspect and the motive remains unclear.
On the previous day, a similar incident shook the near north side, officers responded to an address on the 3000 block of Boulevard Place on a report of a person shot they found an adult male with gunshot wounds and despite being rushed to the hospital, he was declared deceased. WRTV conveys that the victim from Sunday's incident was later identified by the Marion County Coroner’s Office as 26-year-old Mahlique Abrams, though IMPD has indicated that there is no ongoing threat to the public details surrounding the events that led to the shooting are still under investigation.
No arrests have been announced in connection with either case as of now, and authorities are urging anyone with information related to these incidents to come forward.
