The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a weather forecast predicting a mix of clear skies and potential thunderstorms for the coming week. According to the NWS report, today will be partly sunny with temperatures reaching a high near 87 degrees, while a light northeast wind will blow at speeds of 6 to 8 mph.
Tonight's weather is expected to be mostly clear with lows hovering around 68 degrees and a light east wind will gently push. Moving into Sunday, the forecast calls for sunny skies and an even higher temperature, expected to peak near 90 degrees. However, the tranquility may not last as Sunday night introduces a 20 percent chance of rain after 3am, paired with partly cloudy conditions and a mild south wind of 3 to 5 mph.
The probability of rain further escalates into the new week. The NWS indicates, describing the day starting partly sunny with a high near 84 degrees and a south-southwest wind of 5 to 7 mph. The chance of precipitation persists into Monday night, maintaining at 40 percent.
As Tuesday unfolds, showers and thunderstorms are expected to momentarily subside before noon but are likely to reemerge and possibly intensify after 4pm. "Chance of precipitation is 60%," the NWS warns for Tuesday, signaling an onset of less predictable weather with a high near 86. The evening follows suit, with showers likely and a possible thunderstorm continuing into the night, before tapering off around 8pm. Lows are expected to fall to around 71 degrees.
The midweek forecast suggests a recurring theme. Wednesday will start mostly sunny with a high near 91, but the day could take a sudden turn with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. This pattern of sunny starts and tempestuous afternoons is projected to extend into Thursday and Friday, with temperatures reaching the mid-90s by the week's end, and each day bearing a constant 30 percent chance of precipitation.
