Fire crews acted with the precision and care normally reserved for human victims, utilizing their ropes safety team and a backup squad to reach the Husky. In an interview with NBC Bay Area, Capt. Justin Schorr detailed the rescue, indicating that the operation was as meticulously executed as if human life were at stake. While discussing the event with the media, amidst flaring winds pushing against the brave rescuers, Schorr reminded the public, "There are a lot of interesting things in the bushes to chase, but it's not a good idea to go off-trail."
A spokesperson for the department emphasized the importance of keeping dogs leashed and adhering to marked trails.
