Two San Francisco Police Department motorcycle officers were injured in a traffic collision while on patrol, an incident that currently leaves one officer in critical condition. The San Francisco Police Officers Association confirmed the events in a recent statement.
Tracy McCray, President of the SFPOA, expressed the organization's concern, stating via an X post, "Tonight, our prayers are with our two injured officers and their families as they are treated for their injuries sustained while protecting our neighborhoods on patrol." The sentiment reflects a community shaken yet steadfastly hoping to see the guardians of its peace return to health quickly.
Gratitude was extended to the responders, with McCray adding, "We are especially grateful to our San Francisco Firefighters, Paramedics, ZSFGH Emergency Room staff, as well as all the SFPD officers who responded with great professionalism and care to assist our officers". The SFPOA's acknowledgment sheds light on the interdepartmental support system critical in crises.
