In a sweeping effort to staunch the flow of narcotics through Central Indiana, law enforcement agencies in Johnson County have carried out a substantial drug roundup. The sting, which unfolded across the county and touched neighboring areas, led to the arrest of 25 suspects. Meanwhile, authorities are pressing on in their search for 25 more individuals still at large.
The operation, conducted early Wednesday morning, was a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies, including the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, the Franklin Police Department, the Bargersville Police Department, the Greenwood Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Marion County Sheriff's Office, and the SWAT teams from Bargersville and White River Fire Department, WTHR reported.
In total, a staggering 58 arrest warrants and a number of search warrants were executed. The operation is reportedly the result of a months-long proactive investigation by the involved departments. Alongside those who had warrants out for their arrest, seven additional individuals were caught up in the bust and taken into custody on drug charges, according to information obtained by FOX59.
As the crackdown intensifies, police are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects. The identities of these individuals have not been disclosed. The public is encouraged to report any information that could help in catching the fugitives, as law enforcement continues its pursuit.
