A shooting on Monday night in North Nashville has left a 27-year-old woman in critical condition, following an incident outside of Resha's Bi-Rite Market. According to FOX17, Metro Police responded to the 700 block of 25th Avenue North after the woman was discovered with a gunshot wound to her leg. She was subsequently transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical, but stable injuries.
The suspect, described by investigators as a Black male, was reportedly last seen driving a bronze-colored SUV, possibly a Chevy Tahoe. This narrative was corroborated by information provided to WKRN, which detailed that the suspect was at least six feet tall, and was wearing a white T-shirt, with blue jeans at the time of the shooting. Additional details about the suspect and his whereabouts remain scarce, as the investigation led by domestic violence detectives is still underway.
As pointed out by the NewsChannel5 coverage, before being rushed to hospital care, first responders applied a tourniquet to the victim's injury on-site. Witnesses at the scene described hearing a gunshot in the parking lot and seeing a gold SUV, potentially the same vehicle implicated in the shooting, speeding away shortly after the incident occurred.
Anyone who might have information related to the shooting or the suspect's location is urged to come forward to help bring a resolution to this act of violence.
