The stage lights for Aerosmith’s farewell tour have turned off before their final bow in Indianapolis. Steven Tyler, the legendary frontman known for his high-octave range and kinetic stage presence, has been facing a vocal injury that has ultimately led to the band's decision to cancel their “Peace Out” goodbye tour. Aerosmith announced this development to their fans via a post on the platform X.
It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.

The band has described their decision as "heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary," focusing on Tyler’s ongoing recovery from a fractured larynx. "We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side," Aerosmith shared in a statement on X. "Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible." The cancellations come as a blow to fans, especially those eagerly waiting for the band's scheduled performance on January 16, 2025, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Providing more context, Aerosmith stated on X that Tyler’s voice was “an instrument like no other." The band’s message, which X.com highlighted, included gratitude towards the fans and acknowledgment of their shared history: "In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives." Despite the setback, they urged fans to "play our music loud, now and always."
On the practical aspects of the situation, Aerosmith assured ticket holders that full refunds would be processed automatically for those who purchased through Ticketmaster. Nonetheless, those who bought tickets through third-party resale sites have been advised to reach out directly to those companies for refund information.
