The City of Brentwood Police Department has reported an alleged kidnapping that occurred on Sunday. The series of events began when Brentwood Dispatch received a call around 2 p.m. detailing a male and female engaged in what appeared to be a physical fight within a vehicle. Initial details were scarce, but the reporting party provided a partial license plate number, enabling Dispatch to track down and retrieve the full details of the vehicle involved.

Following the first call, two additional reports concerning the same vehicle echoed concerns about a physical altercation. An immediate BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was broadcast across Contra Costa County, spreading to various agencies throughout the Bay Area. This has been the common practice when dealing with such alerts. The concerted effort paid off when Pittsburg PD successfully located and stopped the vehicle.

According to the City of Brentwood Police Department, the suspect was identified as 21-year-old James Llarena from San Francisco. The authorities subsequently arrested Llarena on kidnapping charges, among other related offenses. The adult female, who was found in the vehicle and whose identity remains protected, had injuries consistent with a physical altercation and was promptly transported for medical attention.

Further investigations into the case by law enforcement concluded that the incident was not a random act, as Llarena and the victim were acquainted before the occurrence. Reflecting on the situation, the Brentwood Police believe this was an isolated incident, revealing no indication of other suspects or victims involved. They are confident in their assessment despite the chaotic nature of events.
