
Community members are on high alert after the Chicago Police Department released a bulletin seeking assistance in identifying a suspect connected to an aggravated battery with a firearm. The incident, as captured by video surveillance, took place in the early hours of August 23, around 2:58 a.m., on the 1100 block of S. Canal St., where the suspect was seen discharging a handgun multiple times at a victim before fleeing the scene, as reported by the Chicago Police Department.
The Chicago Police Department's release describes the suspect as a Black male, aged between 25 and 35, standing between 5'7" and 5'11" and weighing approximately 150 to 200 pounds, he was observed sporting a blue ball cap and a black t-shirt with the word OFFICER printed in white letters, accompanied by a black vest, a security badge of unknown bronze color on his right hip, blue jeans with a distinctive black and gold stripe along the seam, and white athletic footwear, after committing the act, the suspect made his escape in a northerly direction driving a silver Ford Focus.
As investigations proceed, the Department stresses the importance of public vigilance and awareness. Community members are urged to report any suspicious activities immediately by dialing 9-1-1 and are advised against pursuing potentially dangerous individuals. Those with pertinent information regarding the case are encouraged to come forward and assist law enforcement efforts.
