This scenic yet challenging terrain called for nothing short of a meticulous and swift response. According to a statement released by CHP's air division, their helicopter H-30 was deployed and played a pivotal role in extracting the young hiker.

The operation commenced when H-30 lowered a Kensington-El Cerrito Fire HRT member to the scene, where the teen was meticulously prepared for a hoist rescue. In a display of careful precision and speed that authorities have become known for, the stranded individual was subsequently lifted from the precarious setting to a location where a waiting ambulance whisked them away to a local hospital. Coordinating the different services was instrumental in ensuring the teenager's safety and rapid transportation to medical care.

The successful rescue marked the 86th instance in 2024 in which team H-30 intervened to provide critical aid to individuals in distress across the varying landscapes under their watch.
