A new culinary venture is budding in the heart of Mesa, as local business Angie’s Food Concepts, founded in 2021 by the husband and wife team Tony and Roushan Christofellis, extends its reach. The up-and-coming Angie’s Prime Grill is planting its roots at 1118 W. Guadalupe Road, a space formerly occupied by an out-of-service car wash set for demolition, ABC 15 reports.
Glenwood Commercial Real Estate, the property's owner, is no stranger to collaborations with Angie's Food Concepts. They currently lease a spot in Chandler to Angie’s Lobster, another enterprise under the brand's umbrella. ABC 15 added that plans were revealed to the Mesa Design Review Board earlier this week, in which the new establishment will cover 1,840 square feet of built-up area on a 35,000 square foot plot, accommodating a kitchen, storage areas, restrooms, and a modest 411 square feet space for indoor dining. However, the restaurant's primary focus will be its dual drive-thru lanes, aimed at those on the go.
Under Angie’s Prime Grill's proposed operational model, customers will be greeted by an order station where they can place and pay for their orders simultaneously. This streamlining is anticipated to expedite the drive-thru process, according to documents filed with the city. Angie’s Prime Grill isn't stopping at efficiency; they also aim to deliver a refined menu boasting high-quality ingredients at affordable prices. Their offerings start at $6.99 for a chicken meal, with the surf and turf combo pegged just under $17, as mentioned in Phoenix Business Journal.
Enlisting the expertise of Valley-based Ideation Design Group, Angie’s Prime Grill has adopted a visual identity that resonates with the inviting ambiance of a classic steakhouse. "The restaurants were designed to have a similar look to a steakhouse and are meant to show consumers that the offering inside differs from other quick-service concepts," stated Carl Schaffer, founder and principal of Ideation Design Group, as reported by the Business Journal. Further enriching their extended menu, Angie’s Food Concepts has launched a burger joint, aptly named Angie’s Burger, which cleverly uses steak trimmings from Prime Grill to create its burgers.
Expanding their gastronomic footprint, the Christofellises are acquainted with the drive-thru format, having co-founded Salad and Go. They now continue to deepen their mark in the drive-thru dining segment with this latest addition to their burgeoning empire of casual, yet quality food concepts. As anticipated growth unfolds, Mesa diners will soon have the opportunity to experience accessible gourmet cuisine right at their car windows.
