A violent encounter at a Miami-Dade tattoo shop has left one employee injured and hospitalized after an armed robbery turned into a shootout. Local10 reports that the shooting occurred Thursday night in the back of The Miller Shops, where Eazy Street Tattoos is located. Two gunmen ambushed the employees, demanding valuables; as one employee attempted to flee, he was shot and subsequently robbed. The wounded man was transported by bystanders to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, and despite the critical nature of his injuries, his condition is described as stable, with the authorities at the local police department working to uncover more about the assailants who, after the attack, fled in a car that police suspect was stolen.
Further details obtained by WSVN indicate that the victims were taking a break when the unexpected ambush by two armed men occurred. "This could’ve been a very tragic incident. It could’ve turned out a lot worse than it did. Obviously, the shopping center at 8 p.m. at night has multiple people, some families frequenting these businesses, so we are just glad that no one was killed in this incident," Martin, highlighting the potential danger to the public had the situation escalated beyond the injury to the tattoo shop employee; the Miami-Dade Police emphasize their relief that no fatalities resulted and their commitment to bringing the responsible parties to justice.
The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities have mentioned having strong leads, which include several witnesses and a plethora of technology from the shopping center that could provide significant evidence. The Miami-Dade Police ask anyone with information to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
