Officers were tipped off to the man's whereabouts by the Guardian Shield program, a local surveillance system that detected the wanted man's car as it entered the interstate. According to WKRN, police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, leading to a short pursuit. Following a mechanical failure, the car became disabled, forcing him to a stop near mile marker 230.
The pursuit transitioned to foot when the man exited his car and attempted to flee across the westbound lanes of traffic. However, his attempt was short-lived, as he was "quickly caught by officers," as detailed by the Mt. Juliet Police. The police have not released the name of the individual, who was also found to be driving on a revoked driver's license.
