In a dispiriting turn of events, Full Out Studios in West Oakland has become the most recent sufferer of brazen thievery after perpetrators forced entry into the establishment, inflicting damage and pilfering valuables. "Based on the tire tracks. It looks like they backed up a vehicle into our roll up gate. So that was the biggest damage," co-owner Rocko Luciano said, as per NBC Bay Area, detailing the distressing incident that unfolded within the beloved dance studio's premises.
The incident was captured on surveillance, showcasing the burglars as they ousted the studio’s cash register drawer and absconded with not only cash but keys and employee paychecks as well, leaving a trail of financial and emotional upheaval in their wake "It’s obviously heartbreaking that it had to happen, and that it did happen," Anthony Esposo, another co-owner, said, per NBC Bay Area. Esposo also relayed the facility's significance: "I think this space is a space for people to explore themselves and it's a place for people to build community".
Determined to rebound from this setback, the studio communicated to its followers via Full Out Studios Instagram the resolve to uphold its schedule and magnify security to safeguard its community. "We’ve filed a report with the Oakland Police, and they are investigating the matter", the post read, reaffirming their dedication to the safety and continuity of the dance studio's mission. The Full Out Studios team also prompted patrons to contribute through Venmo or to partake in classes to bolster their resolve simply.
