A 17-year-old boy was shot in the residential area of Beech Grove on Sunday afternoon, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities. The Beech Grove Police Department responded to a call at approximately 2:33 p.m. near the intersection of South 9th Street and West Bellefontaine Street, as reported by WISH-TV.
The responding officers arrived to find a male juvenile with gunshot wounds. Transported to Eskenazi Hospital, the teen was listed in serious but stable condition, and he underwent surgery, indicating the injuries were significant.
