Federal agents descended upon the Zionsville headquarters of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing on Wednesday as part of an undisclosed investigation. The intervention started around 8:30 a.m. at the 10771 Creek Way facility, a development that Zionsville Mayor John Stehr verified when he acknowledged the involvement of local police for "investigative activity" at the RLL complex. However, specifics about the action were not revealed, leaving the nature of the investigation shrouded in mystery, as confirmed by FBI officials to CBS4Indy.
While Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has promised full cooperation with the inquiry according to a statement sent to IndyStar, the details concerning the impetus for the FBI's presence remain tightly under wraps. "We are cooperating fully with investigators. Given that this is an ongoing investigation, we are limited in what information we can share right now," the team's statement read, ensuring that they will provide additional information when feasible. The FBI's response to IndyStar's inquiry was similarly concise, with public affairs officer Sukhvir Kaur stating, "At this time, I'm unable to provide a comment on this matter."
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, helmed by Indy 500 icon Bobby Rahal, TV veteran David Letterman, and businessman Mike Lanigan, inaugurated its Zionsville 100,000-square-foot headquarters to much fanfare in 2022. The team currently competes in the IndyCar series with drivers including Rahal's son Graham, Pietro Fittipaldi, and Christian Lundgaard, and maintains a presence in IMSA competitions.

With the Wayne County Sheriff's Office opting to focus on multi-county narcotics efforts, Richmond Police assert their continued dedication to the city and county's safety. "Our citizens deserve a police department fully committed to their safety," the department expressed.
