The Albany Police Department has apprehended an individual in connection with an arson incident on Key Route Boulevard. The arrest, which occurred yesterday, led to the detention of a 38-year-old male suspect from Gilroy. The suspect was spotted by an officer while on a routine patrol.

According to the Albany Police Department, the authorities were alerted to the fire early in the morning, which the homeowner managed to extinguish before it could grow seriously. Evidence at the scene yielded a suspect description that later facilitated the arrest. During a subsequent patrol on San Pablo Avenue, an investigating officer conducted a traffic stop, which led to the individual's capture.

The suspect, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, was detained after he was found to have an active out-of-state warrant and to be in violation of a restraining order from another county. He was subsequently placed under arrest for the arson charges and transported to Santa Rita Jail without further incident. The charges leveled against him included violating 451(c) PC, which pertains to arson.
