A 17-year-old boy was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing a man multiple times amidst a domestic dispute in Bartholomew County, Indiana. The incident unfolded Tuesday evening in the residential enclave of Schaefer Court South in Hope, with sheriff's deputies responding to the traumatic scene at approximately 10:26 p.m., as WISH-TV reported.
During their intervention, deputies discovered a 42-year-old man, subsequently identified as Eric Douglas, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Ensnared in the violent act, the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office described it as stemming from a minor physical confrontation that had escalated between Douglas and another resident, according to the details provided by Local News Digital. In the fray, a juvenile male reportedly inflicted the stabbings to Douglas's back.
Douglas was urgently airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis to receive the critical care needed for his injuries. Meanwhile, the juvenile was arrested and now faces a charge of battery causing serious bodily injury, as per the authorities' ongoing investigation. The youth has since been detained at Bartholomew County Youth Services Center, with no immediate release of his identity due to his minor status, as mentioned by FOX 59.
