An officer from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Kamal Bola, was taken into custody in Hendricks County on allegations of child molestation, as reported by WISH-TV. The 35-year-old officer is facing charges relating to multiple counts of child molestation involving a child under 14, as well as one count of public voyeurism.
Jail records indicate that Bola was arrested late Tuesday night, although the specific details that gave rise to the arrest remained unclear following his booking into Hendricks County Jail around 11 p.m. Despite being taken into custody, at the time of his arrest, Bola's connection to the crimes alleged was not immediately disclosed.
FOX59 confirmed that Bola is indeed a member of the IMPD and that the department is expected to issue a statement on the matter. As of yet, there is no public information on the circumstances that led to Bola's arrest on these preliminary charges.
The allegations against Officer Bola are still under investigation by both IMPD and the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office. These events show that police officers, who are responsible for enforcing the law, must also face consequences.
