A woman has been taken into custody in connection with a deadly car crash that occurred last month on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Arosieannya Felton, 22, is facing charges of reckless homicide, failure to remain on the scene of a deadly crash, and driving without a license, as reported by Fox59. According to court documents, the incident took place on August 18 along W. 28th Street near Riverside Park, tragically resulting in the death of 32-year-old Dominique Renee Berryhill.
While standing near a parked car and conversing with a friend around 8:15 p.m., Berryhill was reportedly struck by a car driven by Felton, who subsequently lost control, Fox59 detailed. Seeking an arrest after issuing an active warrant for Felton, who was pronounced dead on the scene by medics, was Berryhill.
Additional details emerged from a WTHR report noting that the accident happened roughly at 8:30 p.m. Witnesses described seeing a gray Dodge Charger slamming into the side of the car adjacent to which Berryhill stood, the impact violently throwing her. Despite immediate CPR attempts from bystanders, Berryhill could not be revived.
Police investigations uncovered that Felton and her passenger fled the scene on foot after the collision. Left behind in the car, which facilitated her later identification, was Felton's wallet and ID, as covered by WRTV.
