
Early Tuesday morning, a car crash in Speedway led to a large fire and is now being investigated by the police. FOX59 reports that emergency responders arrived at the accident scene, a single-vehicle crash, around 4:10 a.m. near West 16th Street and Polco Street, close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The vehicle in question had impacted a pole before being consumed by flames. An anonymous source at the scene provided CBS4 Indy with video evidence of the fire crews as they arrived and took action against the conflagration that enveloped the car. The footage captures a night pierced by the glow of the fire and the urgency of flashing lights.
Speedway Police have not yet released information about the cause of the crash or the condition of the person involved. The investigation is ongoing to determine these details. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
