
Early Monday morning, a fire severely damaged a home on the 8300 block of Aspen Court, near North Franklin Road and 42nd Street, on the northeast side of Indianapolis and injured an occupant. Around 5 a.m., emergency crews responded to intense flames at the residence. A man was found outside the home and taken to Eskenazi Hospital for burn treatment, according to IFD Battalion Chief Ted Waldroup, as reported by WTHR.
According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, there were working smoke detectors present at home at the time of the incident. As firefighters battled the conflagration, the house was deemed a total loss. The specific cause behind the fire is currently under active investigation.
