
In the early hours yesterday morning, tragedy struck Morgan County when a 33-year-old woman, Victoria Johnson of Martinsville, was killed after being hit by a vehicle. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office reported to FOX59 that the incident occurred on State Road 252 near Whetstine Road at approximately 4:30 a.m. Authorities found Johnson unresponsive in a ditch by the roadway and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the location and has been described as cooperative with law enforcement inquiries. Early findings suggest that neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors. According to the sheriff’s office, in a statement obtained by WTHR, Johnson was wearing black clothing and walking westbound, approximately two feet from the roadway when the collision occurred.
The specific circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation, and detectives are actively looking into the details of the accident. The Morgan County Coroner's Office confirmed the identification of the victim, which was also reported by WRTV.
