A fire broke out at a home in Knightstown, Indiana, leaving one person injured on Sunday evening. The blaze, which significantly damaged the residence on North Jefferson Street, was reported at approximately 6:15 p.m.
According to a news release from the Knightstown Fire Department, cited by FOX59, firefighters arrived to find the front of the home "well involved with fire and heavy smoke conditions." The team from KFD Engine 21 entered the household to extinguish the flames, achieving control of the situation by 6:33 p.m.
WTHR reported that the fire was subdued in under 15 minutes, although the full extent of the damage and the injuries sustained by the civilian have not been disclosed. Thankfully, no injuries to firefighters attending the scene were reported.
The investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing, with authorities yet to provide further details. "The cause of the fire is under investigation," the Knightstown Fire Department stated, as per WRTV.
