Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark is dishing out records as casually as she dishes out assists. Last night, as the Fever dispatched the Los Angeles Sparks 93-86, Clark etched her name yet again into the WNBA history books, not just as a point-scoring phenom, but also as a versatile triple-threat. Clark logged 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, securing her second career triple-double, according to Fox59.
In tandem with this, Clark shattered another milestone, being the fastest player in league history to hit 100 three-pointers in a single season. The No. 1 overall draft pick, she's now the first rookie in WNBA lore to reach this feat, Fox59 reports. Accompanying her in the night's high scores, Aliyah Boston dropped 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, boosting the Fever's playoff prospects and earning the team a much-needed fifth consecutive victory — a streak not witnessed since 2015.
Clark's achievement isn't a standalone, as her performance comes on the heels of being named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month, as chronicled by The Indy Star. The Fever have clinched their place in the playoffs and are looking robust at 18-16, a record solidified by a 10-1 surge on their home court since early June.
Clark’s previous triple-double may have ended in a loss, but this time the outcome was nothing but a sweet victory for the Fever, as reported on the NBA website. The Los Angeles Sparks, who trailed throughout the game, were repulsed by Clark's multi-faceted display, as the Fever crafted a five-game winning streak, which aligns perfectly with the team's fortitude since the Olympic break.
She joins the ranks of WNBA standouts with multiple triple-doubles in a season, a list that features the likes of Alyssa Thomas, Courtney Williams, Sabrina Ionescu, and Candace Parker.
