A male juvenile was shot multiple times last night near Percy Priest Lake in a confrontation that escalated dramatically outside a local gas station. According to WSMV, the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. at 2827 Smith Springs Road, where the victim, now in critical condition, was shot in the torso. The specifics of what led to the shooting remain unclear, and Metro Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Further details have emerged from WKRN, who reported that the shooting victim, identified as a 17-year-old boy, allegedly attempted to rob someone exiting the Mapco store. The would-be robbery victim is said to have retrieved a firearm from their vehicle and shot the teenager three times in the back. The teen was urgently taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, although his condition remains uncertain. As of now, no suspect information has been released by the MNPD despite the ongoing investigation.
As a result of the violence, the gas station at MAPCO on Smith Springs Road became a crime scene cordoned off by Nashville authorities. Despite the high number of gunshots sustained, the male juvenile was rapidly transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center and is now fighting for his life in a critical condition.
