Indianapolis has witnessed another incident of violent crime, resulting in two arrests following a botched robbery attempt. Yesterday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to an emergency call reporting gunshots on the city's south side.
Officers arrived at the scene in the 8000 block of Madison Avenue to discover a male victim with a gunshot wound, as revealed in an account by WTHR. The shooting took place on September 2, at approximately 1:30 p.m. near East Stop 11 Road. The wounded man's condition was stable upon transportation to Eskenazi Hospital for treatment.
Investigations led to the apprehension of two alleged perpetrators, 21-year-old Lazaruis Harrell and 19-year-old Markell Coles. They were taken into custody on charges connected to the robbery, as corroborated by a follow-up report shared by IMPD on their official Facebook account. A third suspect, a juvenile whose name has been withheld, was also temporarily detained as part of the investigation according to FOX59.
