A serious collision in Shelby County sent two individuals to the hospital on Tuesday morning, according to law enforcement reports. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident involving a passenger car and a dump truck on SR244 around 8:15 a.m.

The collision occurred when the dump truck, traveling eastbound, dropped off the edge of the south side of the road and overcorrected, which caused it to come back onto the road to then strike the westbound passenger car head-on. The FOX59 report detailed these events, shedding light on the harrowing crash that unfolded just west of the Liberty Township Schoolhouse No. 2.
